Celebration LOVE...Leap Year Brides!

Happy Leap Year everyone and especially to those celebrating birthdays today {how young are you today 4, 10, 21?}. Did you know the other fabulous thing about a leap year? There is a long-held tradition that females can propose to their boyfriends on February 29 {TODAY!}. I wonder how many women out there were brave enough {or frustrated enough and decided to take matters into their own hands} to pop the question to their beau today? Whether you did it or he did don't forget to organise a fabulous engagement shoot. We adore a beautifully or simply styled shoot like these below...
{one, two, three, four, five}

This day is extra special for some friends of mine who welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. Congratulations guys what a wonderful addition to your family!

Event LOVE...pretty papers!

Today we finished off two beautiful invitations for two very lovely girls. Each was completely different but both are bright and gorgeous! We can't show you the complete set yet {they are in the post as we speak so we thought we had better let the recipients see them first!} but here's a little sneak peek...

I hope you get a brightly coloured envelope in the mail also!

Styling LOVE...all that glitters is Gold!

Happy Monday friends. I am finding it a little hard to believe that as of Thursday it will be March. The year seems to be flying by already. Today I started thinking about what to do next in store as far as table and window displays go. We decided that we wanted something that would give an Easter/celebration inspired look and what we came up with was; Gold. Here was the thought process: Easter - eggs - the goose that laid the golden egg - GOLD. Don't ask how that all linked in my mind it just did. I put together a little mood board for inspiration...

{one / two / three / four / five}
I couldn't wait to get started so I quickly sprayed a glass bottle gold.
I don't know about you but I love the result, I can't wait to show you all the gold goodness soon!

Shop LOVE...Today was a busy day!

Yesterday afternoon at about 4:30pm {half an hour before the store closes} we had a pallet, yes an entire pallet, of stock delivered to the store. I didn't panic though because mum and I work together on a Friday...thankfully. With that in mind we got to the store bright and early and ready to work. And then we got a delivery {a box of books} and another one {3 boxes of candles} and another one (2 boxes of fashion} and then one last parcel {more fashion}. Oh, and I also had to finalise the latest batch of invitations that are having to go out early next week {more on that later}. Today was a busy day!
At 5:03pm we were finished {with the exception of steaming a few of the clothes, excuse the wrinkles in the top photo!}.
This is only a snippet, but it's a great depiction of how today felt...
Great work today team!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend,

Event LOVE...Playing with sparklers

Last night we had a wonderful family celebration, we ate {way too much} food, did some paintings on mini canvases {the birthday boy's favourite things are art and music}, popped some party poppers, blew out the candles and forced ourselves to eat some cake! And then we played with sparklers...
{Sparklers are so much fun for all ages! In the middle is Kirsten & that 'K' was completely unintentional! The birthday boy is in the circle}
This is my soon-to-be sister in law that I mentioned here and when we were at the stage of talking about what to do for her save the dates we tossed around the idea of doing a sparkler message. While we didn't end up doing that we still think it is so cute, so last night out of the corner of my eye {at almost the end of the sparkler} I caught this...
Sparklers have so many applications in making invites and events that much more fun and...sparkly!

Make sure you don't overlook the simple sparkler at your next event!

Birthday LOVE...The baby is growing up!

In our family Christmas day marks the start of a good few months of intense celebration. In the past 9 weeks {has it really been 9 weeks since Christmas?} we have celebrated 7 different family members birthdays...and today marks number 8!

The baby of the family turned 17! It only seems like yesterday that the boy with the biggest blue eyes was  this small...
{such an adorable baby boy!}
{Isn't this how everybody swims?}
Happy Birthday Benny, so tall and handsome...no baby anymore!

Planning LOVE...Working from home!

Before you scroll through this post I want to let you know that while yes, I agree, it looks like an afternoon spent flipping through magazines {and maybe eating a piece of caramel slice} it was actually work...hard work!

In a contradiction of yesterday's post I raced out and bought ‘White’ {a quarterly wedding magazine published in Australia}. There is something about flipping through images printed on the most gorgeous paper stock that I simply can’t resist. It is not advertisement heavy and includes gorgeous illustrations and how-to’s as well as ideas that stray from the conventional…in other words right up my alley.
{Yes, the caramel slice was delicious!}
{Fabulous mood and theme inspired 'boards'}
{I am definitely seeing an event forming in my mind!}
 The magazine is not only a fabulous source of inspiration {and sometimes motivation} it was also an active part of this invitation set that we created recently for an engagement party. We have to admit the pages did look fabulous as the liners in the beautiful turquoise envelopes! If you haven't already, make sure you grab a copy otherwise you will be waiting until May. Enjoy!

Party LOVE...Pinterest Recon!

It's Monday. The time is 11:19pm. My name is Thea & I am a Pinterest addict.

How about you, have you crossed over into the magical world that is Pinterest? In this time of digital everything it was only natural that the humble pin board {or pile/folder/drawer of torn out magazine pages for the less organised of us} be given  a digital facelift also.
As well as being hours of fun {how did I get to looking through photos of puppies wearing pea coats when I was originally searching for peony bouquets?!} it is also extremely useful for cataloguing and saving inspiration for anything from invitations to decorations to renovations. We love pinterest for work & play and can't remember a time before it came into our life.

Sign up & follow us if you want; we can get lost for hours!

Shop LOVE...Love {cushion}

Happy Friday Friends. Is it just me or did this week fly by? No complaints though because it means the weekend is here! My weekend will be bittersweet, one of my dearest friends is moving away {hopefully only until November...fingers crossed} and so today I took a quick break from some of the other projects we are working on to make her a special going away/housewarming present.
So, here it is and i have to say I love it, and it happens another customer does as well {we are now making another 2 for her!}. I hope Miss H likes it just as much as we do...
On a happier note I am headed back to the Eagle Farm Markets on Sunday morning to talk to one of the bakers about a cake for an Engagement party we are throwing in April. But more importantly to hopefully have a Passionfruit White Chocolate Ganache Lamington that I was craving here.

I will keep you posted!

Event LOVE… Crystal loveliness!

For mum’s birthday yesterday the family gathered at my parent’s house for dinner and cake. The headcount was 13 people and 3 dogs {quite tame for our family really} with ages ranging from 2 to 82. It was crazy and loud but oh so nice to all be together {with the exception of one of my brothers who is currently somewhere in Europe drinking too much beer I am sure; Hi Zac!}.
When mum and I are together however we can never seem to escape work. But in this case I was excited because the crystal towers that mum had been working on were finished…and glorious if you ask me!
I can’t wait to see them in all of their glory at someone’s special event {I am sure they are going to get a lot of love!}

I promise I will get mum to do a blog post one of these days!

Birthday LOVE...Here's to you mum!

Gosh this week in our family is full of love and celebration!

And today is mum's day.
I have always said if I had to sum my mother up in one word it would be 'mum'. She is the very embodiment of the word; she is always there to encourage you, to worry about you, to protect you, to talk to, to laugh with, to cry with or to sit and say nothing at all with, she's your biggest champion and I am exceptionally grateful that she is my mum.

Happy Birthday Mum {I hope you enjoyed your day off!}

Love LOVE...Valentine's Day edition!

Happy Valentine's day all. I hope that whatever your day brings it is filled with love and laughter.

Shop LOVE...lights, camera, cushions!

Is it really Monday already? Where did the weekend go? Aside from work, mine was filled with family, friends and a 2nd birthday party {for a pug named Shirley}...it was pretty great all round! But we're back to it today and I have to say that the cushion order we received completely tickles my fancy...
Do you all agree? Cameras and pom poms need I say more! I think I may be a little jealous. If my cushion to couch ratio wasn't already completely skewed, I would definitely be getting some of these for myself.

Here's to a great week,

Engagement LOVE...You're invited!

We wanted to share with you the invites {for what is sure to be a beautiful engagment party} that went out earlier this week. The bride-to-be was a delight to create for and was all too happy to cut and fold and stick alongside me. Without a wedding date {as yet} or a set colour theme the possibilities of style and colour and the look of the invites were endless. She's a girl's girl. He's a man's man. So we compromised; bold and structured for him with Tiffany blue accents and envelopes for her {did we mention the lucky girl sports a Tiffany & Co. ring on her finger!}.
As well as help from the bride-to-be I also had another special helper who watched over every step of the process {meet Oscar!}.
Happy Friday friends, hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Party LOVE...Lawn & Lace

If you noticed these beautiful fabric napkins in the sneak peek photo of our table display, you weren't the only ones. These gorgeous hand sewn napkins have been getting a lot of love in store; so much so that mum is making another 50 for a special event for one lucky girl. The fabric itself is stunning {a beautiful light Japanese Lawn} then to make them even more special they are edged with a vintage lace trim {hand sewn with matching embroidery silk}.

Gosh they are looking great {only 35 to go!}, I might have to put an order in myself.

Decorating LOVE...playing with paint

We apologise if you came into the store today and were overwhelmed by the smell of paint. When we get an idea in our head there is generally no lag time. So when mum & I were discussing what to do with the showroom space in store and we were debating painting it; to me there was to be another conversation about what colour to actually paint it. To mum it meant come in bright and early and get the first coat on the walls!

The colour is actually perfect {no need for any further debate on colours! How did she know?} and I can already see the room coming together. Not long now!

*For those who want to know the name of the colour I apologise we actually had to doctor our own colour to get it just right!
