Event LOVE...A fond Farewell

Today I was invited to an event that we had nothing to do with in terms of coordinating, planning or styling.
I did have something to do with it however as it was at my primary school. The principle that helmed the school when I attended {a long 17 years ago...gosh it is amazing to even be able to speak in such lengths of time!} is only just this year retiring after 21 years as head of that school. In my senior year I had the privilege of being named School Captain and so was asked to come back to pay tribute.
I have to say I was a little nervous at the thought of addressing the entire school and it's esteemed guests. But as I drove to the school, a drive that I have made countless times in my life, I was amazed at how familiar and calm  I felt wandering through the grounds and noticing more than one familiar face {I don't know what they put in the water there but no-one seems to want to leave!}.  Happily I got through my speech without a hitch {and then indulged in a bit of morning tea that the P&C had so kindly provided} and all in all felt quite honoured to have been asked to attend!

P.s. Sorry for the lapse in posts it has been a little crazy round here of late...but more on that later!

Event LOVE...All tied up

Last night we had a working bee of sorts.
Last night we crossed job no. 142 of the wedding list.
Last night we tied ribbon around 96 different sized glass jars.
3 more days and a handful of jobs left to do and they are set to tie the knot {my brother and his gorgeous bride-to-be}!
It kinda feels like christmas only better!

Event LOVE...an Easter Engagement

It was a sea of turquoise and twinkle lights for the Engagement party on Saturday night. The bride-to-be wore white and her groom wore a smile from ear to ear. There was delicious food and drink and friends and family that had flown in from all over. We heard nothing but oohs and aahs all night from the delighted guests {we don't know if it was from viewing the ring; a Tiffany & Co. sparkler, the scrumptious food, the frozen margaritas; yep you read that right!, the gorgeous decorations and setting or a wonderful combination of all!} we think the guests of honour were pretty chuffed with the outcome as well...
We thought the couples too-cute-for-words dachshund should get a mention because he really did steal the show on the night!  Complete with dapper bow tie  he mingled and posed for photos and maybe had a little nap towards the end {it's tough being so cute!}.
Congratulations you two, we wish you nothing but love and laughter and can't wait to be a part of the wedding!

Event LOVE...Sweet Shower

It really was oh-so-sweet!
The weather was beautiful, the food delicious and the bride-to-be was simply stunning.
There were swans and strawberries, posies and Persian fairy floss, games and giggles and far too much food and drink. Every detail was girly and decadent, from an array of vintage china teacups and saucers right down to the handmade, lace edged fabric napkin that was given to each guest as a party favour.
How gorgeous is the the bride-to-be! The groom sure is a lucky man...
We hope you like looking at the pictures as much as we enjoyed the day...here's to the future Mrs, I hope the shower was a wonderful precursor of what's to come!

Friday LOVE...what a weekend

With one event in full swing; crystal towers, clouds and all {and looking truly divine if the birthday girl does say so herself} we can sleep easy tonight before we dive head first into the next {a divine bridal shower complete with lustreware porcelain Swans...more on that later!}.

I can't wait to share photos from both of the events with you early next week...until then take a glimpse of what my tomorrow looks like...
Whatever you have planned I hope you have a fabulous weekend {we will raise a glass on your behalf!}.

Event LOVE...Pick your Dessert

This weekend is a very busy {& exciting} one for us.
On Friday night we have the 21st we told you about here and here. And then Saturday we have the Bridal shower we have mentioned here and here. We are getting all the last details together for both...today I was finishing off some gorgeous frames for the dessert table of the 21st. They are luscious and hot pink and too cute not to share with you {I am a sucker for pink, I am sure you are to!}.

Can't wait to see these vibrant beauties take their place on the night!

Event LOVE...Pretty paper

Today I worked on getting some pretty paper finished for an event that is coming up {I can't say too much yet for fear of the guest of honour finding out!}.

We will reveal all after the event. Until then enjoy this sneak peek of a small snippet of some of the 47 that had to be illustrated by hand!

P.s. It wouldn't be such a bad thing if this rain would please go far, far away!

Planning LOVE...Working from home!

Before you scroll through this post I want to let you know that while yes, I agree, it looks like an afternoon spent flipping through magazines {and maybe eating a piece of caramel slice} it was actually work...hard work!

In a contradiction of yesterday's post I raced out and bought ‘White’ {a quarterly wedding magazine published in Australia}. There is something about flipping through images printed on the most gorgeous paper stock that I simply can’t resist. It is not advertisement heavy and includes gorgeous illustrations and how-to’s as well as ideas that stray from the conventional…in other words right up my alley.
{Yes, the caramel slice was delicious!}
{Fabulous mood and theme inspired 'boards'}
{I am definitely seeing an event forming in my mind!}
 The magazine is not only a fabulous source of inspiration {and sometimes motivation} it was also an active part of this invitation set that we created recently for an engagement party. We have to admit the pages did look fabulous as the liners in the beautiful turquoise envelopes! If you haven't already, make sure you grab a copy otherwise you will be waiting until May. Enjoy!

Event LOVE… Crystal loveliness!

For mum’s birthday yesterday the family gathered at my parent’s house for dinner and cake. The headcount was 13 people and 3 dogs {quite tame for our family really} with ages ranging from 2 to 82. It was crazy and loud but oh so nice to all be together {with the exception of one of my brothers who is currently somewhere in Europe drinking too much beer I am sure; Hi Zac!}.
When mum and I are together however we can never seem to escape work. But in this case I was excited because the crystal towers that mum had been working on were finished…and glorious if you ask me!
I can’t wait to see them in all of their glory at someone’s special event {I am sure they are going to get a lot of love!}

I promise I will get mum to do a blog post one of these days!
